Reflective Practice Workshop

Introduction

In this 2 hour workshop, senior managers, therapeutic specialists and leaders in Intensive Therapeutic Care are invited to explore the function of reflective practice within their organisation. The workshop will draw on theory and practice considerations from the CETC practice guide on reflective practice which participants are encouraged to read prior to the workshop.
 
By participating in this workshop, participants will:

  • Recognise the values and principles of reflective practice within the Intensive Therapeutic Care Space
  • Explore the skills needed to deliver effective reflective practice forums
  • Recognise the link between reflective practice and staff retainment, healthiness and happiness   
  • Recognise the link between reflective practice and critical thinking

Please note: This training has been developed specifically to support workers within the New South Wales Intensive Therapeutic Care system. If you are not an ITC worker, but are interested to participate in a similar training, please email cetc@childhood.org.au
 
Presenter: This training is presented by Noel MacNamara and Laura Moloney.
Noel is the Deputy Director for the Centre for Excellence in Therapeutic Care. Noel MacNamara is a social worker with over 35 years of experience as a clinician, supervisor and executive with a wide range of services with children adolescents and families.

Laura is the Research to Practice Co-Ordinator with the Centre for Excellence in Therapeutic Care. Laura is a social worker with over 16 years’ experience in child protection. Laura has experience reforming child protection services through implementing reflective practice forums into organisations in London and Sydney.
