Right From the Start
Right From the Start
The Right from the Start – Bringing Up Great Kids from conception to 5 years program has been designed to meet the needs of expectant parents and to support parents with young children.
This program has 12 chapters in two parts;
Antenatal: The first 6 chapters focus on expectant parents and connecting with their unborn child, one of which is specifically for expectant dads and another chapter on the birth that can be facilitated at the end of the antenatal or the beginning of the post-birth chapters. These chapters can be used as a separate and discrete program.
Post-birth: There are 6 post birth chapters that support parents in their early years with young children. These 6 chapters can also be used as a discrete program.
There will be a one-day training on this program that will include:
- a facilitator’s manual
- session outlines
- interactive reflection activities
- participant sheets
This training will provide the participant with the skills to use this program with expecting parents and parents of young children. Training for this program will commence in 2019.
The Bringing Up Great Kids is an identified Evidence-Based Program for Communities for Children Facilitating Partners. It has been evaluated and found to be an effective program in supporting the development of mindful and positive relationships between parents/carers and children.
