Action Feedback with Children: Ideas and Tools to Listen Better Online Course
It is so important to involve children and young people in decisions about the services they are participating in. Listening to their input and making it meaningful with practical tools to encourage their voice and close the feedback loop is vital to delivering better care and support.
This on-demand course introduces and explores core concepts of engaging children in feedback and evaluation processes. It takes a rights-based approach to collecting feedback and incorporates practical ideas and tools to help practitioners listen better more often, while also supporting improved service design.
For a short time, the online course Action Feedback with Children: Ideas and Tools to Listen Better is available FREE.
The course features Australian Childhood Foundation’s popular Action Feedback Kit developed to support the ideas introduced in the training.
While you are able to complete the free course on its own, we do recommend you purchase the Action Feedback Kit in our shop to begin to apply the ideas in your own work. The kit can be purchased once you have registered for the online training at the bottom of this page.
The Action Feedback Kit costs $110 plus postage (tracked). Agencies may not require one kit per worker as they may be able to share the resource. Additional kits can be purchased at a later point if required. Payment for the kit must be by credit card. For participants who register from countries outside of Australia, an additional fee may be charged to cover the cost of overseas shipping. Please ensure you provide the correct delivery address, along with an email address where tracking updates can be sent.

What difference will this make to your practice?
Meaningful participation of children and young people requires us to bring them into the dialogue. This process begins by analysing the cultural beliefs that undermine children’s contributions and beginning to remove the barriers set up by these beliefs.
When working with children and young people, we all have opportunities to amplify their voices, honour their ideas and facilitate their contributions.
Action Feedback with Children: Ideas and Tools to Listen Better will support you to identify and provide meaningful opportunities for children and young people to offer feedback about the services that they are participating in. This on-demand course, and the tool on which it is based, open these discussions and provide practical strategies and processes for stronger participation.
