Child Safety In Schools
What is this training about?
Schools play a critical role in protecting children and young people from abuse and neglect. Through their regular contact with children and young people, they are in a strong position to promote student’s health, safety and wellbeing, as well as identify signs and risks of abuse and neglect.
Safeguarding pupils in schools has been a cornerstone of educational practices for decades, however we continue to hear about child abuse cases in school settings by those who are responsible for the safety of the students themselves – school staff.
This interactive virtual classroom will help participants learn more about creating safe environments for children and young people through robust safeguarding practices within the school setting.
What will you learn?
By attending this training, you will:
- Identify the risks of child abuse in the school setting
- Learn about the findings and recommendations from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, in relation to schools
- Explore the critical elements of developing and maintaining a culture of child safety in schools
