Introduction
ACF Resources to Support Partnership with Parents Affected by Trauma is a training session that supports early childhood educators in their communication and engagement with parents who have experienced trauma.
The training aims to support educators in their respectful, non-judgemental communication with traumatised parents, and enables educators to provide parents with trauma-informed knowledge in their relationship with their traumatised children.
This session is offered on different days and at different times to support educators to be able to attend.
Our Trainers
All training sessions delivered by the Australian Childhood Foundation are facilitated by members of our therapeutic services, parenting and early years program. These staff members are qualified and experienced professionals that are engaging in trauma-informed practice with children, young people and families.
Detailed Costs
$214.50 per person, per session
Registrations require payment in order to confirm your place in the workshop. If payment is made by credit card at registration your place is guaranteed in the workshop you have registered for; if you pay by invoice you have a tentative registration until payment is received. All invoices MUST be paid for prior to the workshop date. NB: If the workshop becomes fully booked before your payment is made, your tentative booking will be cancelled.
Targeted Audience
This workshop will benefit early childhood professionals at all levels of practice knowledge. Early childhood educators with some previous experience of trauma-informed practice will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge. Early childhood educators with minimal trauma-informed practice knowledge can begin their journey through this workshop
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- The training offers tools and fosters skills in educators to establish an authentic relationship with all families despite barriers like trauma.
- The training provides a reflective space for educators to focus on their relationship with traumatised families.
- This training offer opportunities for educators to reflect on their philosophy in working families affected by trauma.
Learning Methods
The training is a 3.5 hour online virtual workshop that includes a pre-training information pack containing videos, handouts, articles, and an interactive live, facilitated presentation.
