Healing Relational Trauma Through Play
Healing Relational Trauma Through Play
Introduction
This online interactive workshop will start to explore the important role of play in supporting children affected by relational trauma and the importance of safe relationships to support healing. Play is a neural exercise that supports this process, offering children repetitive experiences in an environment of safety.
Early childhood educators have an important role in supporting healing through intentional play. The aim is to support children to turn off overactive defence mechanisms in order to promote mobilisation (play) and social engagement.

These staff members are qualified and experienced professionals that are engaging in trauma-informed practice with children, young people and families.
