This theoretical framework provides the foundation upon which all elements of care and intervention are provided by the Foundations Therapeutic Services.

The opportunity:

ACF currently has an exciting new vacancy for a Team Leader based in Broome to lead a team of Aboriginal staff to deliver an integrated approach to the delivery of Intensive Family Support Services and Family Care Support Program in the West Kimberley. This role provides an innovative opportunity to apply trauma-informed and culturally strong approaches in practice with at risk children, young people, and families.

About the role:

As the new Team Leader you will be responsible for:

• Providing effective support and clinical/practice supervision to Aboriginal staff working in to the two programs.
• Overseeing the day to day management of the service in conjunction with management of partner agencies.
• Coordination of the intake process for external referrals to the program including management of the wait list.
• Work in collaboration with Aboriginal Therapeutic Case Workers, to provide additional expertise/resourced to their work with families and or providing mentoring and training to staff.
• Collaborating with the ACF Program Manager to develop and implement quality assurance and program development measures to ensure the program performance remains of a high quality.
• Collaborating with partner agencies and other key stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the programs for families receiving a service.
• Facilitating the development of innovative program initiatives that effectively meet the needs of children and young people and families in the service.
• Provide clinical leadership in the implementation of the care plan including trauma assessment, needs identification, risk assessment, practice guidelines, case documentation and transition planning.
• Undertake specialized trauma assessments for children and young people referred into the program from other sources.

About you:

• An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of children, young people and families.
• Highly developed ability to provide secondary consultation and advice to clinicians and other professionals.
• Ability to deliver culturally secure services that integrate cultural healing principles.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage in an area of challenging and complex practice.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma, attachment and neurobiology frameworks, and theories.
• Substantial experience in the area of child abuse and/or in working with traumatised children and young people.
• Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively and the capacity to negotiate and liaise with volunteers, including carers, other agencies, and the community.
• A sophisticated understanding of the complexity of the service system and the issues involved in providing services to statutory clients.
• A current Western Australian driver’s license and Working with Children Check or equivalent.

Remuneration & Benefits:

This position attracts a competitive base salary, a $15,000 remote allowance, FBT exemptions of 50% via salary packaging, phone, tablet, and superannuation.
