Workshops and Seminars

Terms and Conditions

FEES

Information regarding the course fees and cancellation for vocational courses (including accredited courses and therapeutic modality courses) can be found in the relevant course information booklets and student handbook.

Training tailored to your organisation is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the training agreement.

REGISTRATION

The Australian Childhood Foundation requires full payment of fees for all workshops and seminars to be made fourteen (14) days prior to the advertised workshop or seminar date unless otherwise negotiated. Once registration is received we will issue a confirmation receipt/tax invoice and a place will be held for your attendance. Should registration fees not be received prior to seminar commencement, a certificate of attendance will not be issued until paid in full.

Dietary Requirements

The Foundation will make arrangements to cater for individuals with specific dietary requirements where possible. At the point of registration, please ensure that you have notified the Foundation of any specific requests. Catering for special dietary requirements can differ between venues.

Health and Safety

The Foundation is committed to ensuring that the health and safety of trainers and participants is always a priority. At the beginning of each workshop or seminar, trainers will communicate a safety plan for all participants. Participants are expected to follow the directions of the trainer and/or the venue staff in the event of an emergency. At the point of registration, participants are required to inform the Foundation of any health or other related information that will enable the trainers to effectively meet any specific needs during the program experience.

Seminar cancellation

The Australian Childhood Foundation reserves the right to cancel any seminar if there are insufficient registrations within fourteen (14) days prior to the seminar date.  The Australian Childhood Foundation may also substitute the scheduled seminar speaker at any time.

If the Australian Childhood Foundation is required to cancel a seminar for whatever reason, all Registered Participants will be notified prior to the scheduled seminar date and, at the option of the Registered Participant:

a) the Registered Participant will receive a full refund, or

b) the Registered Participant may elect to transfer his or her registration to another seminar held within six (6) months of the cancellation date.  In which case the Registered Participant must notify the Australian Childhood Foundation of the seminar they would like to attend within three (3) days of the scheduled seminar date.

Cancellation by you

A Registered Participant must notify the Australian Childhood Foundation in writing or by telephone if they wish to cancel their attendance at a seminar.

Further, if a Registered Participant does not provide written or telephone confirmation to the Australian Childhood Foundation of their cancellation more than 14 days prior to the scheduled seminar, their fee will not be refunded and they may not transfer their registration into another seminar.

If a Registered Participant wishes to cancel registration for a scheduled seminar more than fourteen (14) business days prior to the scheduled seminar, the Registered Participant may:

a) transfer the registration to another seminar, without any fee or penalty; or

b) cancel their registration and receive a refund less a $20 administration fee.

Transferability of registrations

If a Registered Participant is unable to attend a seminar the Registered Participant must notify the Australian Childhood Foundation and may nominate a substitute to attend in their place, provided that the Registered Participant notifies the Australian Childhood Foundation immediately and in any event at least twenty four (24) hours prior to the seminar date.

Liability

The Australian Childhood Foundation is not liable for any losses or incidental costs incurred as a result of any cancellation by a Registered Participant or by the Foundation. Further, the Australian Childhood Foundation will not be liable for expenses such as the prepayment of travel, meals or accommodation incurred by a Registered Participant arising from the discontinuation of a seminar.

Please note: On the rare occasion that a cancellation occurs it is strongly suggested that participants not book flights and accommodation to attend an ACF seminar until ten (10) days prior to the session.

Course cancellation

Cancellation policies for courses facilitated by the Australian Childhood Foundation differ from those outlined above for one and two day seminar sessions.
Cancellation policies for courses are available in additional course material documents.
